Richard M. Gee is a transactional legal specialist with close to two decades of legal experience, emphasizing business, real estate, intellectual property and entertainment matters. His business practice encompasses advising and representing clients in business acquisitions, mergers and dispositions with an expertise in venture and equipment financing and related documentation as well as business formation issues including the preparation and negotiation of shareholder, partnership, joint tenancy and LLC operating agreements. Mr. Gee advises on legal real estate related matters including property acquisition, 1031 exchanges, title issues, financing, construction, leasing, land use and redevelopment matters. He also has several years experience representing hospitality management companies as well as hospitality and resort properties. Mr. Gee’s expertise also includes intellectual property acquisition, disposition, assignment, licensing, clearance and registration as well as the preparation and negotiation of entertainment contracts.
A native Spanish speaker, Mr. Gee has represented several Latin-American companies in business matters both in the United States and in Latin America. He most recently served as Business Affairs Manager for Univision Music Group, the largest Latin music label. He is admitted to practice law in California and Colorado, is a member of the State Bar of California, and a member of the Colorado Bar Association. Mr. Gee is a graduate of Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, where he was on the Dean’s List and was the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Los Angeles with a major in history where he was also on the Dean’s List and was a member of Phi Eta Sigma, a scholastic fraternity.
